Biography

As the Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy, Shannon Helton-Amos provides guidance and insight on the communications and marketing strategy for the organization. She oversees a talented team of marketing professionals who work to positively influence the perception of Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) and the benefits of lifetime learning. The team includes marketing, communications, creative, research, and digital strategy, all aligned to drive enrollments and applications to the non-credit programs and online degrees we support. The team leads the implementation of digital experience across GTPE’s many platforms.  

As the director, Shannon serves as the communications lead and point of contact for all GTPE needs and inquiries. She also collaborates directly with others across the Institute on various initiatives to ensure consistency in goals and messaging, and alignment with the broader Georgia Tech communications strategy. 

She has spent more than 15 years helping mission-based organizations effectively tell their stories and connect with their audiences to influence and drive strategic goals. She began her career doing advocacy and development work in the nonprofit sector, and, just prior to joining Georgia Tech, served as a market-level director of marketing and communications for a regional health system based in Tennessee. She received her B.A. from Milligan University.
